Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FICOCYTE is a filgrastim biosimilar developed by Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. It is a recombinant protein that acts as a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) agonist. By binding to the G-CSF receptor (GCSFR), it stimulates the proliferation, differentiation, and activation of neutrophil precursors in the bone marrow, leading to an increase in functional neutrophil counts. FICOCYTE is indicated for the treatment and prevention of neutropenia in patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy, those with chronic neutropenia, individuals with acute radiation exposure, and patients undergoing bone marrow or stem cell transplantation. It is typically administered via subcutaneous or intravenous injection.
