A combination therapy consisting of **figitumumab**, a monoclonal antibody targeting the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R), **carboplatin**, a small molecule platinum-containing chemotherapeutic agent that forms DNA crosslinks and inhibits DNA synthesis, and **etoposide**, a small molecule topoisomerase II inhibitor that prevents DNA unwinding and induces DNA strand breaks. This combination has been investigated in clinical studies for the treatment of cancer, particularly for small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and other malignancies. Figitumumab is developed by Pfizer and is a targeted therapy intended to inhibit IGF-1R signaling, thereby reducing tumor growth and survival. Carboplatin and etoposide are well established cytotoxic chemotherapy agents, widely used in standard regimens for SCLC and other cancers, and act by disrupting cellular replication in rapidly dividing cells.
