figitumumab + sunitinib

Figitumumab + sunitinib is an investigational combination of two antineoplastic agents: figitumumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R), and sunitinib, an oral small-molecule multitargeted receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) inhibitor. This combination has been explored mainly in oncology, including progressive metastatic solitary fibrous tumor and non-small cell lung cancer, aiming to block critical signaling pathways in tumor growth and angiogenesis. Figitumumab acts by inhibiting IGF-1R-mediated signaling; sunitinib inhibits multiple RTKs implicated in angiogenesis and tumor proliferation, including PDGFR, VEGFRs, KIT, FLT3, CSF-1R, and RET[1][2][3][4][7]. Combination development appears investigational and not approved for any indication.
