Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The combination of filgrastim (a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor) and thrombopoietin (a megakaryocyte growth and development factor) is used to enhance mobilization of peripheral blood progenitor cells and improve hematopoietic recovery. Filgrastim stimulates neutrophil production while thrombopoietin increases platelet production. This combination has shown synergistic effects in mobilizing peripheral blood progenitor cells, decreasing the number of apheresis procedures required, and potentially accelerating hematopoietic recovery following high-dose chemotherapy.
