Overview

A therapeutic peptide-based vaccine developed by PCI Biotech AS for the treatment of HPV-related cancers. It utilizes Photochemical Internalization (PCI) technology, which involves the photosensitizer fimaporfin (TPCS2a). The vaccine consists of two HPV16 E7 peptides (E7 1-35 and E7 62-98) and the adjuvant Hiltonol (poly-ICLC). The mechanism involves intradermal administration followed by light activation at the injection site. This process triggers the release of endocytosed antigens into the cytosol, significantly enhancing MHC class I antigen presentation and the subsequent induction of CD8+ T-cell responses against HPV-infected or cancerous cells.
