Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BR2060 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) pharmaceutical product developed by Boryung Pharmaceutical, primarily marketed in South Korea under the brand name Tuvero. It consists of fimasartan, a selective non-peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB), and atorvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). The drug is indicated for the treatment of patients who have both hypertension and dyslipidemia (specifically hypercholesterolemia), where the individual components are appropriate. Fimasartan works by selectively blocking the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure, while atorvastatin lowers plasma cholesterol and lipoprotein levels by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis and increasing hepatic LDL receptors. This combination therapy aims to reduce the pill burden for patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors, thereby improving medication adherence and overall cardiovascular outcomes.
