Overview

FIN-403 is an investigational, orally administered microbiome therapeutic being developed as a standardized fecal microbiota–derived product for the prevention of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (rCDI). It is designed as a defined bacterial replacement or microbiome modulator, derived from screened donor stool and formulated to restore a healthy gut microbial community and colonization resistance against C. difficile after antibiotic treatment. The program originated from Finch Therapeutics’ collaboration with OpenBiome, leveraging OpenBiome’s donor material and clinical experience and Finch’s microbiome drug development platform to produce a regulated, scalable alternative to traditional fecal microbiota transplantation, with early-stage clinical development including plans for phase 2 evaluation in rCDI.[4][5][7]
