Overview

Finerenone is a non-steroidal, selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) used primarily for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults with type 2 diabetes. It works by blocking the effects of aldosterone, thereby reducing inflammation and fibrosis in the kidneys and heart. Finerenone is developed by Bayer and has shown efficacy in reducing cardiovascular events and slowing kidney function decline in CKD patients.
