Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Finotonlimab is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) receptor, developed by Sinocelltech. As an immune checkpoint inhibitor, it prevents the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2), thereby restoring T-cell mediated anti-tumor activity. In combination with chemotherapy—specifically platinum-based agents like cisplatin and antimetabolites like 5-fluorouracil—it is used to treat head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Clinical data from the pivotal NCT04146402 trial demonstrated that this combination significantly improves overall survival in patients with recurrent or metastatic HNSCC compared to chemotherapy alone. It is also being evaluated as a perioperative therapy in earlier-stage HNSCC.
