Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Finskelneuzumab (tentatively named, also known as MS-Hu6) is a first-in-class, humanized monoclonal antibody targeting follicle-stimulating hormone subunit beta (FSHβ). Developed by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, finskelneuzumab binds specifically to FSHβ with high affinity (KD of 7.52 nM) and blocks its interaction with the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that blocking FSH action with finskelneuzumab or its murine surrogate (Hf2) prevents bone loss, fat accrual, and Alzheimer's disease-like features (such as memory loss and cognitive decline) in animal models. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of osteoporosis, obesity, Alzheimer's disease, and hypercholesterolemia, with IND-enabling studies supporting its advancement toward first-in-human clinical trials.
