Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This veterinary combination is a broad-spectrum topical endectoparasiticide designed for the treatment and prevention of mixed infestations of ectoparasites (fleas, ticks, lice, and mites) and endoparasites (nematodes, cestodes, and heartworm larvae) in companion animals. The formulation combines four active ingredients with complementary mechanisms of action: fipronil, a phenylpyrazole insecticide/acaricide that blocks GABA- and glutamate-gated chloride channels; (S)-methoprene, a juvenile hormone mimic that disrupts the insect life cycle; moxidectin, a macrocyclic lactone that paralyzes nematodes by activating glutamate-gated chloride channels; and praziquantel, a cestocide that induces calcium influx and spastic paralysis in tapeworms.
