Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fish oil ethyl ester + AquaCelle is a self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) formulation developed by Pharmako Biotechnologies. It combines omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters, specifically eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), with the proprietary AquaCelle technology to significantly enhance oral bioavailability. AquaCelle works by promoting rapid emulsification of the lipid-based active ingredients in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating efficient absorption even in the absence of a high-fat meal. Clinical studies have demonstrated that this technology increases total omega-3 absorption by approximately 6.1-fold compared to unformulated fish oil. The formulation is primarily used as a nutritional supplement to support cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and anti-inflammatory responses.
