This combination therapy consists of inhaled mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (specifically the product FITCELL) and oral compound methoxyphenamine capsules (marketed as Asmei). The exosomes are delivered via nebulization to the lungs, where they are intended to exert anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair effects by modulating the local immune environment and reducing airway hyperresponsiveness. Compound methoxyphenamine is a fixed-dose combination containing methoxyphenamine hydrochloride (a bronchodilator), noscapine (an antitussive), chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine), and anhydrous caffeine. This therapeutic regimen is being evaluated by Shanghai Changzheng Hospital for the treatment of post-infectious cough (PIC), aiming to address both the underlying inflammatory damage and the acute symptoms of persistent coughing following respiratory infections.
