Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FK50, specifically referred to as MAb FK50-4 in research, is a monoclonal antibody developed to neutralize Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus (FIPV). It targets and recognizes the FIPV small integral membrane glycoprotein, known as M protein. This antibody demonstrates a unique property by exhibiting strong neutralizing activity in feline macrophages, even after the virus has absorbed into the cells, but not in other cell lines like CrFK or fcwf-4 cells. This suggests a cell-tropism dependent mechanism of action.
