Overview

FKB238 + paclitaxel + carboplatin is a combination regimen used primarily in the treatment of **advanced or recurrent non-squamous non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC)**. FKB238 is a biosimilar of bevacizumab, an antiangiogenic recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that binds vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), preventing interaction with its receptor and thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and growth. Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent (taxane class chemotherapeutic) that arrests the cell cycle and induces apoptosis, while carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic that introduces DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis. This combination has been evaluated in large, randomized, double-blind, phase III trials for NSCLC and is administered by intravenous infusion on a defined cycle. The FKB238 component provides a cost-effective, functionally equivalent alternative to the reference biologic bevacizumab, with similar efficacy, immunogenicity, and safety profiles[1][3][5][7].
