Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FL5 is a novel, tetravalent, bispecific antibody-based Wnt surrogate designed to activate canonical Wnt signaling. It directly binds to Frizzled (FZD) receptors and the Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5) co-receptor, mimicking the function of endogenous Wnt ligands. Developed by researchers at the University of Toronto and AntlerA Therapeutics (acquired by Roche), FL5 is being investigated preclinically for the treatment of osteoporosis, including age-related osteoporosis and early-onset osteoporosis (EOOP) caused by WNT1 deficiency. In mouse models, FL5 has been shown to stimulate bone formation, increase bone mineral density, and reduce spontaneous fractures.
