Overview

Flag-711 is a preclinical-stage synthetic mRNA adjuvant developed by Flag Bio. It consists of mRNA that encodes the flagellin protein, which serves as a potent agonist for Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5). By activating TLR5, Flag-711 stimulates the innate immune system and enhances the adaptive immune response to co-administered antigens. It is primarily being developed as a component for mRNA-based vaccines targeting respiratory viruses such as Influenza and SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) to improve vaccine efficacy, magnitude, and durability. The drug is designed to be co-administered with mRNA vaccines to provide a targeted immune boost.
