Flairesse

Flairesse is a professional dental prophylaxis system developed by DMG Dental Material Gesellschaft mbH, designed for the prevention of dental caries and the treatment of tooth hypersensitivity. The product line includes various formulations such as varnishes, gels, foams, and prophylaxis pastes. The Flairesse varnish is a high-concentration fluoride delivery system containing 5% sodium fluoride (equivalent to 22,600 ppm of fluoride ions) and xylitol. Its mechanism of action is multifaceted: it promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel by facilitating the formation of fluorapatite, which is more resistant to acid-induced demineralization than the original hydroxyapatite. It also effectively seals exposed dentin tubules and hypersensitive areas at the tooth neck to provide rapid relief from sensitivity. The inclusion of xylitol helps to inhibit the growth of cariogenic bacteria and reduce acid production, further protecting the oral environment from decay.
