Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flaminal is an advanced enzyme alginogel wound dressing developed and marketed by Flen Health. It utilizes a biotechnological approach to wound care by incorporating two active antimicrobial enzymes: glucose oxidase and lactoperoxidase. These enzymes work synergistically within the gel matrix to generate reactive oxygen species that eliminate bacteria, providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection without damaging healthy tissue. Flaminal is available in two formulations, Hydro and Forte, which are tailored to manage different levels of wound exudate. It is indicated for the treatment of various acute and chronic wounds, including infected wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure sores, and burns. In addition to its antimicrobial properties, Flaminal supports autolytic debridement and maintains an optimal moisture balance to facilitate the healing process.
