Flavonid

Flavonid is a venoactive small molecule combination drug developed by Azidus Brasil, consisting of the flavonoids diosmin (450 mg) and hesperidin (50 mg). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and related conditions such as hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and venous ulcers. The medication works by enhancing venous tone through increased smooth muscle contractility, improving lymphatic drainage to reduce edema, and mitigating inflammatory and oxidative stress associated with venous hypertension. In clinical development, Flavonid was evaluated in a Phase 3 non-inferiority study (NCT01110512) against the reference drug Daflon, demonstrating efficacy in alleviating symptoms like leg pain, heaviness, and night cramps.
