Flavonil

Flavonil is a fixed-dose combination of bioflavonoids, specifically diosmin, troxerutin, and hesperidin, primarily used for the treatment of vascular and proctological conditions such as hemorrhoids and acute anal fissures. It functions as a venotonic and vasoprotective agent, enhancing venous tone by prolonging the vasoconstrictor effect of norepinephrine on the venous wall. Flavonil also reduces capillary permeability and improves lymphatic drainage. Its anti-inflammatory mechanism involves the inhibition of inflammatory mediators, including prostaglandins and leukotrienes, and the reduction of leukocyte adhesion to the vascular endothelium. In clinical research, such as studies conducted by Sapienza University of Rome, Flavonil has been evaluated for its ability to alleviate pain and bleeding in patients with acute anal fissures.
