Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flavonoid-enriched houseleek extract (FEHE) is a patented botanical extract derived from *Sempervivum tectorum* (houseleek), developed by Laboratoire Native (PHYTO Paris). It is primarily utilized in topical hair care formulations to combat reactive hair loss (acute telogen effluvium) triggered by oxidative stress, fatigue, or seasonal changes. FEHE acts as an activator of the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF-2) pathway, which is a master regulator of the cellular antioxidant response. By stimulating NRF-2 expression in the hair follicle bulb, the extract protects anagen hair follicles from oxidative stress-induced premature entry into the catagen regression phase, thereby stabilizing hair elongation and preventing synchronized hair shedding.
