Flexyn2a is a bioconjugate vaccine designed to protect against infection by *Shigella flexneri* 2a. It consists of the O-polysaccharide antigen from *S. flexneri* 2a enzymatically linked to the exotoxin A (EPA) protein from *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* using an in vivo conjugation process in *Escherichia coli*. The resulting conjugate stimulates an immune response targeting the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of *S. flexneri* 2a and has demonstrated robust immunogenicity and protective efficacy in clinical trials. Flexyn2a is administered intramuscularly and can be formulated with or without alum adjuvant[1][3][6]. The vaccine was originally developed by GlycoVaxyn and further advanced by LimmaTech Biologics in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health[7]. Its primary indication is for the prevention of shigellosis caused by *S. flexneri* 2a.
