Fliz-1 silencing vector is an experimental gene therapy agent designed to knock down the expression of the zinc finger CCCH domain-containing protein 8 (ZC3H8, also known as Fliz-1). Developed by researchers at Villanova University, the vector targets ZC3H8, which acts as a transcriptional repressor of the GATA3 promoter. In preclinical models of breast cancer, silencing of Fliz-1 relieves the repression of GATA-3 and estrogen receptor alpha, thereby restoring sensitivity to endocrine therapies such as tamoxifen and reducing tumor growth.
