Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FLO23011 is an oral Multi Energy Substrate Hypoglycaemia (MESH) rescue treatment designed for the management of hypoglycaemia in patients with Type 1 Diabetes. Developed by Flow Science Holdings Ltd, it is a combination product containing glucose, lactate, and beta-hydroxybutyrate. Unlike standard glucose-only rescue treatments, FLO23011 targets multiple metabolic pathways to provide rapid hypoglycaemia reversal while potentially reducing common post-treatment side effects such as fatigue, weakness, and cognitive impairment (often referred to as a 'hangover' effect). Clinical data from randomized cross-over studies indicate that FLO23011 improves patient-reported outcomes, including faster return to activities, increased dosing confidence, and reduced rebound glucose spikes compared to standard glucose gels.
