Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Florajen3 is a high-potency, multi-strain probiotic dietary supplement containing a proprietary blend of three clinically researched bacterial strains: *Lactobacillus acidophilus* (LA-14), *Bifidobacterium lactis* (BI-04), and *Bifidobacterium infantis* (BI-26). It is primarily marketed for maintaining digestive health and restoring microbial balance, particularly during or after antibiotic therapy. In a clinical research context, Florajen3 has been evaluated in a Phase 2 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (NCT03315481) led by Marquette University to determine its efficacy in reducing antenatal Group B Streptococcus (GBS) colonization in pregnant women. The study aims to demonstrate that oral probiotic supplementation can decrease maternal GBS carriage, thereby potentially reducing the need for intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis and improving neonatal outcomes. The product was originally developed by Clarion Brands, which was acquired by Lallemand Health Solutions in 2019.
