Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flowens is a patented, full-spectrum cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) powder developed by Naturex (now part of Givaudan). It is formulated from a proprietary blend of cranberry fruit, pomace, and seeds, providing a complex profile of bioactive compounds including anthocyanins, flavonols, tannins, and phenolic acids. This intervention was studied in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 1 trial by Weill Medical College of Cornell University to evaluate its efficacy in women with dry overactive bladder (OAB). Results indicated that a daily 500 mg dose over 24 weeks significantly improved clinical symptoms such as micturition frequency and urgency episodes. Unlike simple extracts, Flowens utilizes the entire fruit to maintain a specific ratio of bioactive constituents intended to support urinary tract health.
