Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FLU-028 refers to a Phase II clinical trial (NCT07204964) evaluating GSK's investigational mRNA-based multivalent seasonal influenza vaccine candidates, specifically GSK4382276 (also known as FLUm3HA.b-3NA) and FLUm3HA-3NA. Developed by GSK in collaboration with CureVac, these next-generation vaccines are designed to target both hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) antigens of influenza A and B strains. This dual-antigen approach aims to provide broader protection, reduce disease severity, and limit viral transmission compared to traditional HA-only vaccines. Following positive Phase II results from the Flu-028 trial, which demonstrated superior immunogenicity compared to licensed standard- and high-dose inactivated comparators, GSK selected the optimized B-strain HA candidate, GSK4382276, to advance into Phase III clinical development.
