Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FLUAD Pediatric is an inactivated trivalent influenza vaccine adjuvanted with MF59C.1 (an oil-in-water emulsion containing squalene). It contains purified hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) surface antigens from three influenza virus strains (types A and B), as recommended annually by the World Health Organization and national immunization authorities. The vaccine is indicated for active immunization against influenza in children 6 months to less than 2 years of age. The MF59 adjuvant enhances the immune response to the viral antigens. Like other inactivated influenza vaccines, it works by stimulating antibody production against the included viral strains[2][7][9].
