Fluarix Tetra

**Fluarix Tetra** is an egg-derived, split-virion, inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine developed and manufactured by GSK. It contains hemagglutinin antigens from two influenza A and two influenza B vaccine strains selected for the applicable seasonal formulation and induces protective humoral immune responses against influenza infection. In the phase 3 VIP-ACS trial led by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, patients hospitalized with acute coronary syndrome received either two simultaneous intramuscular 0.5 mL doses before discharge or a standard single dose approximately 30 days later. The double-dose in-hospital strategy did not reduce the 12-month hierarchical composite of major cardiovascular and pulmonary events relative to delayed standard-dose vaccination.
