Overview

FluBHPVE6E7 is a therapeutic vaccine candidate based on a genetically modified influenza virus vector engineered to express the E6 and E7 oncogenic proteins from human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16). Upon administration, this recombinant viral vector stimulates the host immune system, particularly cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs), to recognize and target cells expressing HPV16 E6 and E7 antigens. The primary aim is to induce an immune response capable of clearing HPV-infected or transformed cells, thereby treating or preventing progression of HPV-related lesions such as cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and potentially other HPV-driven cancers. The drug has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and effects on cervical cytology in women with normal cytology or low-grade lesions associated with persistent HPV-16 infection.
