Overview
Flubrobenguane F18 is a radiopharmaceutical small molecule developed as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent. It acts primarily as an inhibitor of the norepinephrine transporter (NET), enabling visualization of sympathetic innervation in tissues. The compound is labeled with fluorine-18, making it suitable for PET imaging due to its radioactive decay properties. Flubrobenguane F18 has been investigated for use in cardiac imaging, particularly for heart failure, and has also shown promise as a diagnostic tool in patients with suspected pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, where it demonstrates high uptake in tumor lesions compared to healthy tissue[3][5][7]. The drug was initially developed by Lantheus Medical Imaging.
