Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FluLaval TF is a preservative-free, thimerosal-free formulation of FluLaval, an inactivated, split-virion influenza vaccine prepared from influenza A subtype and influenza B viruses propagated in embryonated hens’ eggs and inactivated with ultraviolet light and formaldehyde before purification and disruption with detergent. It is designed for intramuscular administration to induce strain-specific neutralizing antibodies against the hemagglutinin antigens of the included influenza viruses, thereby providing active immunization for the prevention of seasonal influenza. Developed by GSK, this formulation maintains the antigenic composition and immunogenic profile of standard FluLaval while removing thimerosal from the presentation to meet preservative‑free requirements.
