It is primarily utilized in CHUV-led clinical trials as a potent activator of memory CD8+ T cells, often serving as a control antigen or a component of multi-peptide vaccines for melanoma to enhance or monitor the patient's immune response. The peptide functions by binding to HLA-A*0201 molecules, which then present the antigen to T-cell receptors, triggering an immunostimulatory effect.
