Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flunoprazine is a small molecule serotonin receptor modulator developed by Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. It primarily acts as an agonist at the 5-HT1A receptor and an antagonist at the 5-HT2A receptor. This dual mechanism is intended to enhance cognitive function and potentially address behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) by modulating serotonergic signaling in the brain. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials in China to assess its efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
