Overview
Cortilona is a topical corticosteroid cream containing 0.01% fluocinolone acetonide, developed and marketed by Offenbach Farmacéutica Mexicana. Fluocinolone acetonide is a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid with medium potency that acts as an agonist of the glucocorticoid receptor. Upon binding, it translocates to the nucleus to modulate gene expression, leading to anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. Cortilona is approved for the treatment of various inflammatory, pruritic, and allergic skin conditions, including dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis.
