Fluocortine butylester is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid and an anti-inflammatory agent. It was patented in 1971 and approved for medical use in 1977. When applied topically, it is designed to exert local anti-inflammatory effects with no detectable systemic corticosteroid activity.
