Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fluorbetazine is a fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed by HTA Co., Ltd. for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaques in the brain. As a diagnostic imaging agent, it binds with high affinity to neuritic Aβ aggregates, which are a hallmark pathological feature of Alzheimer's disease. By enabling the non-invasive visualization and quantification of amyloid deposition, fluorbetazine supports the clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and the assessment of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or unexplained cognitive decline. It is currently being evaluated in Phase III clinical trials to establish its diagnostic performance and safety profile compared to standard clinical assessments.
