Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fluorine-18 alfatide is a peptide-based radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent developed by Yantai LNC Biotechnology, a subsidiary of Yantai Dongcheng Pharmaceutical. The agent consists of a peptide ligand radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope fluorine-18 (18F), specifically designed to target Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP). FAP is a cell-surface glycoprotein highly expressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor microenvironment of most solid tumors, while remaining nearly undetectable in normal adult tissues. By binding to FAP, fluorine-18 alfatide enables high-sensitivity PET/CT imaging for the detection, staging, and characterization of various cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical development, primarily focused on identifying lymph node metastases in patients with solid tumors.
