Flurodrops-T is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic suspension containing the corticosteroid fluorometholone and the aminoglycoside antibiotic tobramycin. Marketed by Austrak, it is indicated for the treatment of steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions where a bacterial infection or a risk of bacterial ocular infection exists. Fluorometholone acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist to suppress the inflammatory response to various inciting agents, thereby reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Tobramycin provides broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against common ocular pathogens by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit.
