Drug intelligence / Profile preview
mFLOX is a modified chemotherapy regimen consisting of bolus fluorouracil (5-FU), leucovorin (folinic acid), and oxaliplatin. It is a variation of the standard FLOX regimen, utilizing a significantly lower dose of leucovorin to reduce treatment costs and improve accessibility, particularly in resource-limited settings. The regimen is administered intravenously without the need for an infusion pump, making it a convenient alternative to infusional regimens like FOLFOX or FOLFIRINOX. mFLOX is primarily used as a first-line treatment for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) and is being evaluated in clinical trials for patients with unresectable or metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who are ineligible for infusional FOLFIRINOX.
