Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of the antimetabolite fluorouracil and the alkylating agent melphalan. This combination has been studied for treating metastatic or recurrent endometrial carcinoma and other cancers. The combination works through complementary mechanisms of action, with fluorouracil interfering with DNA and RNA synthesis while melphalan cross-links DNA strands to prevent cell division.
