Fluoupeptin (氟莱哌素) is a synthetic peptide analog of the marine natural product hemiasterlin, developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. It functions as a potent microtubule inhibitor by binding to tubulin and disrupting microtubule polymerization, which leads to mitotic arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. The drug was evaluated in Phase I clinical trials in China for patients with advanced malignant solid tumors, where it was administered as a 72-hour continuous intravenous infusion to assess safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary antitumor activity. While it showed potent cytotoxic activity in preclinical models, its clinical development appears to have stalled following early-phase testing.
