Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Flupiwell P** is a fixed-dose combination oral tablet developed by Primus Remedies, containing 100 mg of flupirtine and 325 mg of paracetamol (acetaminophen). It is indicated for the management of acute and chronic pain, particularly pain associated with musculoskeletal spasms, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tension headaches, dysmenorrhea, and post-operative recovery. Flupirtine is a centrally acting, non-opioid analgesic that functions as a selective neuronal potassium channel opener (SNEPCO), stabilizing the resting membrane potential of neurons and indirectly antagonizing NMDA receptors to suppress pain transmission. Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic, primarily by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in the central nervous system, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Together, the two active ingredients provide synergistic pain relief and muscle relaxation.
