Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fluprednidene is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid used primarily in the form of its acetate ester (fluprednidene acetate) as a topical cream for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. It acts by binding with high affinity to glucocorticoid receptors inside cells after penetrating cell membranes. This interaction modulates gene expression to exert anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects by reducing inflammation and relieving symptoms like itching and redness. Fluprednidene is considered moderately potent among topical corticosteroids[1][3][4][6][7].
