Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination drug that pairs flurbiprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), with lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Flurbiprofen works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 enzymes, decreasing prostaglandin synthesis in peripheral tissues, while lidocaine blocks sodium channels in nerve membranes. This dual mechanism provides more effective pain relief than either agent alone. The combination is used to reduce propofol injection pain and for topical management of various pain conditions.
