Flusalmex

Flusalmex is an inhaled combination medication developed and manufactured by Jaber Ebne Hayyan Pharmaceutical, primarily indicated for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a combination of fluticasone propionate, a synthetic corticosteroid, and salmeterol xinafoate, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). Fluticasone propionate works by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, which leads to potent anti-inflammatory activity within the airways, reducing swelling and irritation. Salmeterol xinafoate acts as a selective agonist of the beta2-adrenergic receptors on bronchial smooth muscle, causing relaxation and sustained bronchodilation for approximately 12 hours. Together, these components address both the underlying inflammation and the bronchoconstriction associated with obstructive airway diseases.
