Fluspiral

**Fluspiral** is an approved inhaled corticosteroid product marketed by **Istituto Lusofarmaco d'Italia** for maintenance treatment of **asthma** and use in **COPD** and bronchostenotic respiratory disease. Its active ingredient is **fluticasone propionate**, a synthetic glucocorticoid small molecule delivered directly to the lungs via inhalation formulations including pressurized inhalation suspension, dry powder inhalation, and nebulized presentation. The drug acts primarily through activation of the glucocorticoid receptor to suppress airway inflammation, reduce inflammatory mediator production, and provide prophylactic control of chronic obstructive airway disease when used regularly rather than for acute symptom relief.
