Overview

Fluticasone furoate + oxymetazoline hydrochloride is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) nasal spray developed by Sava Healthcare Limited for the treatment of nasal respiratory conditions, primarily allergic rhinitis with nasal congestion. The product combines fluticasone furoate, a synthetic trifluorinated corticosteroid that suppresses inflammatory mediators by inhibiting cytosolic phospholipase A2, with oxymetazoline hydrochloride, an alpha-adrenergic agonist that acts as a decongestant by constricting nasal blood vessels. Clinical data indicates that the combination is more effective than fluticasone furoate alone in reducing nasal symptoms and does not induce rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa) even with continuous once-daily use for 28 days.
