Overview
Duonare is a brand name for a fixed-dose combination (FDC) of fluticasone propionate and formoterol fumarate, developed by Libbs Pharmaceutical for the maintenance treatment of asthma in adults. Fluticasone propionate is an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in the airways, reducing swelling and irritation. Formoterol fumarate is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) that provides rapid and sustained bronchodilation by relaxing airway smooth muscle. The product is delivered via a dry powder inhaler (DPI) and has been evaluated in clinical trials in Brazil, demonstrating comparable efficacy and safety to other established ICS/LABA combinations such as budesonide/formoterol.
